50 days to NSR 1 and more importantly 78 days to Olympic 2x trials!

We began another cycle of training this week which again seems to be insurmountable. But when we all looked at the plan, Dave reminded us of that which matters most: after 4 months of impossibly hard workouts, we are still here.

We have built our base and now the work is shifting mostly to the water where we will start pushing up the stroke ratings and the heart rates. That being said, the work is not getting a whole lot shorter. For instance this morning, we did 30 km of threshold work between 24-28 spm in 20 min segments. While it was extremely difficult, we could do it, which was really encouraging. We were joking about cooling down for 12 k just to make it a marathon(42 k). The next four weeks will be interesting with this workout on the schedule three times a week.

In other exciting news, Brian and I are getting a new double that is arriving tomorrow!! We are doing all of our work in singles right now but just seeing the boat we will race trials in will be awesome.
