Just got home to Cincinnati and am settling into a very familiar setting...
I feel like I just got back to the Shire after carrying the ring deep into Mordor with my friends. I have not been here during this part of the year since I was a senior in high school. It is the most beautiful time in Cincinnati and I am very happy to be able to spend some time with my parents and get some quality training in here. This is a great place to train. 30 days until the heats of LM1x trials so I need to have a very focused flow of training, rest, and recovery here in Cincy.

Tom's petition to row in the Olymic Singles Trials has been denied. This is so wrong. I feel horrible for Tom. About a month ago, he left quad camp after the disappointment of coming third at 2x Trials. Tim Mclaren told him he would be able to race the singles trials...yet...here he is barred from the event after a long arbitration with USRowing. There are so many things wrong with this. He spent the money to get his boat and himself across the country because USROWING told him he could race! Not because he just wanted to spend money! He trained for the last month for his last opportunity to make the olympic team and now that chance has been restricted from him. Our country's system has problems...I think the world of my older brother and I would only want him to get the opportunity to have one last race to show his preparation this year...He is the epitome of hard work and should be a symbol of the sport in our country for all that he has put into it. This is not the way he should be treated...
