Vid

Here are a couple of links to videos of some recent steady state rowing. UT2 is a lower intensity, 18-19 spm and 130-140 HR. UT1 is a firmer paddling intensity, 20-22 spm, 140-160 HR.

These two videos are about a week apart. The UT2 vid being the earlier of the two. The first one is pretty relaxed and smooth with pretty good speed on the hull for that particular intensity. That being said,  still focusing on keeping everything horizontal and simple.

The second video is from yesterday. My feet are slightly higher here which has seemed to help me get a more connected and longer effective leg drive. It may result in less compression but at race pace I think it is a positive change. In this stretch, I am trying to give the boat a chance to breathe around the release then picking the boat up on the run. I have been able to hit some good speeds doing this at low rate. The recent head of the hosmer was the first time that I effectively hit that rhythm at race pace. Its an ongoing pursuit, but as I mentioned in my last post, there is another level of efficiency out there that I am trying to tap into.
