Pretty cool segment on Craftsbury on ABC's Chronicle.

I made it down to Princeton today and most importantly made it safely with my new boat! It is the boat I used this summer at the World Cups and fits me a lot better than my current hull, which is a lightweight boat. This new boat is a new mold from Empacher that is for 80-90 kg crew weight, so around 180-185.  I am really to have a boat with more height variability and better trim through the water, especially for rough conditions. I loved my old boat, but I am just too heavy for it. This new hull is more in line with the amount of food I eat these days.

I am fortunate to have a great support group here in Princeton, including Nancy Shoeffelen and Jim Millar. Jim is nice enough to let me use his back yard and dock to store and launch my boat. I look forward to signing his boat shed along with many other scullers including John Biglow, someone I look up to a great deal.  So for the next couple of days, I will be launching of his dock, and getting used to the new boat before racing this Sunday.

Looking forward to getting some quiet swing going tomorrow. Interested to see what my paddling speeds are in the new boat.
