Semi AB
Felt way better this morning, had a great warm-up with Ben, and then BOOM, we are down a length after 30 strokes to Martin and Valent Sinkovic of Croatia. After 500 meters, we were being pulled to our port side by their wake and I knew at that moment we would have trouble getting out of it, and sure enough, we bounced side to side in their wake for the rest of the race. We got a free lesson on starting speed from the best in the world. We spent the next 6 min and 19 seconds struggling, never finding the rails that we were on in the heat that gave us easy speed. We are certainly disappoint with the way things went today but definitely not discouraged. It was very frustrating to not put out the performance that I know we are capable of having in that situation, but we will learn from it and move on. I don't want to dwell on it too much because I am confident in our speed and know that we have a great opportunity tomorrow in the B final. We have Denmark, China, Great Britain, Czech Republic, and Germany. Top 7 qualifies the boat for World Champs.
